Micro PV Overview Photovoltaic (PV) systems produce clean, carbon free electricity directly from daylight and are increasingly being used on UK homes to supplement domestic electricity demand. UK companies and grant programmes have generally concentrated on larger systems of 1kWp or more, because of readily available inverters, economies of scale and on the basis that at this size, the system will contribute a substantial portion of the home's annual electricity needs.
