The Climate Friendly Co. has developed a range of very small (less than 550Wp) grid connect solar photovoltaic (PV) systems designed to make solar electricity for homes and other buildings much more affordable. For more information on the system options, see our Micro PV pages.

To help solar PV take off in your local authority area, we will help you set up a local Micro PV group. Local residents who wish to know more about PV can join the group which will offer:

• Informative training days covering PV theory, background to system installation, use and maintenance, energy efficiency measures that help to increase solar contribution, Personal system design surgery

• Group micro-website with discussion forum and access to group member system perfomance data

• Keen DIY'ers in the group can carry out some of the installation work themselves to help cut costs, with support available from a group professional installer

• Assistance in obtaining any grants or loans available

Micro PV groups could help to build up a local renewable energy project base. With several small systems in a local area, your local authority can start to make renewable technology more visible and increase publicity, leading to more renewable energy projects in the future.
